Pierce County has several scenic drives.
Two drives have been designated by
the State of Wisconsin as Rustic Roads.
They are beautiful year round, but
you will especially enjoy them during
the fall color season and spring budding
and blooming season.
Happy
Valley Road
Take 770th Ave. from St. Hwy 29 to
the intersection of 910th St. and
950th St. Take 910th St. to the intersection
of 710th Ave. To complete the Rustic
Road, turn east on 710th Ave. to County
Road O.
Happy Valley
Road is an example of the urban influence
on this area of western Wisconsin,
with its influx of homes and the still
present farm fields. One of the most
unique areas of this lovely winding
and hilly road is the formation of
a tree covered canopy giving the traveler
the feeling of entering a peaceful
tunnel. The road follows and may times
passes over, a deep dry run outlined
by lush green foliage and wild flowers.
Adding to the beauty of this road,
is a farm with buildings on either
side, productive small fields and
steep tree covered hills. The roadside
vegetation adds to the charm of the
county side as Happy Valley Road gradually
moves to a higher point and meets
Pleasant View Road. -- by Janet Huppert
and Louie Campbell.
