Hager City is located on the “Great River Road”, Hwy 35, just north of Bay City. An historic Bow and Arrow landmark is inlaid on the hillside about a mile past the intersection of State Highway 63 and the Great River Road. The Bow and Arrow landmark has remained undisturbed since it was first observed in 1902 by Minnesota archeologist Jacob Brower. The rock outline is an archeological curiosity which even the Native Americans were not able to explain.
The back channel, as well as the main channel of the Mississippi river, is located below the lock and dam No. 3 and it is a very popular fishing area for hundreds of fishermen during the late winter and early spring.
