    The Eau Galle Flood Control Project with its dam, lake, recreation areas and channel improvements was initiated in 1958 to control flooding in the Spring Valley area. The dam is the largest earthen dam in the Midwest.

    Main Day Use Area: Features picnic shelters, large playground area, boat launch (only electric motors allowed), courtesy dock, and fishing dock. Free parking. Walking path to the beach area.

    Beach Area/Parking: Features picnic, beach & swimming area, 3 sand volleyball courts. Northwest Day-Use Area: Located along the Eau Galle River and Lake. Picnic shelter, grills, port-a-jons, bank fishing, great sight-seeing.

    Lousy Creek Access: Boat launch on Co. Rd. NN, close to campground. Only electric motors allowed.

    Highland Ridge Campground: Drive up and tent camping available.

    Kinnickinnic State Park offers boat camping for up to 110 boats on the sand delta where the Kinnickinnic River enters the St. Croix. All boats must be self contained. From I-94 at Hudson take Co. Rd. F/Carmichael Rd. (exit 2) 8 miles south; 8 miles from downtown Prescott Hwy. 10E to Hwy. 29E to Co. Rd. F; 8 miles southwest of River Falls on Co. Rd. FF.     Nugget Lake County Park was named for the gold mining that took place in the late 1800’s. There is no evidence as to how much gold was found. The lake is 1.8 miles long and 550 ft. wide. Walleyes, bass, bluegills, and crappies are fished year round. Because only electric trolling motors are allowed, it is one of the most peaceful lakes you will visit in Wisconsin.     Nugget Lake County Park is open year round with entrance fees being collected at all times. The park opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m. However, the campground remains open 24 hours every day.

    Camping fees are paid in addition to entrance fees. Prices subject to change. No entrance fees required for Senior Citizens. Canoe/boat rentals include life jackets and paddles. Fishing licenses available. Dogs on leash only. Quiet hours exist after 11:00 p.m.
